Remodeling Process

Your remodeling project begins with a personal meeting with Butch and is complete when you are fully satisfied with your new living space! It's our partnership with you that makes the process work so well. We believe remodeling is a collaborative and creative art. More often than not, the actual outcome is better than the initial idea!

Initial Consultation

Your role:  We'll ask you to provide as much information as possible about your remodeling ideas, including: the age and style of your home, your budget, whether you have actual plans or are in need of design services.

Our role:  Butch will make an appointment to come to your home and meet with you to discuss your ideas and provide you with more information about us. We'll give you a list of references, a list of our subcontractors and preferred suppliers. With 25 years of experience in the remodeling profession, you'll find Butch has the background and expertise to provide a reasonable idea of cost and the types of issues that may come up during the work.

Proposal

Our role: Depending on the size and complexity of your project, you can expect a detailed proposal within 4 to 6 weeks of your first meeting with Butch. We work with you and our subcontractors to draw plans, develop specifications and price out the labor and materials for the construction of your project.

We take a thorough approach and pay strict attention to detail in the proposal phase so that your final price will be very close to the original bid amount. We never artificially lower a bid to "get the job" only to ratchet the dollars up during the project.

Your role: Select your products (e.g., plumbing fixtures, flooring, countertops, etc.) and determine your colors (paint, carpeting, etc) as expeditiously as possible. Once your decisions are made, we can obtain up-to-date and accurate pricing. We can recommend appropriate individuals to contact about your selections. If you work directly with a sales individual, please give them our name so they'll be expecting our phone call!

Construction

Our role: We manage the team of professionals working on your job to ensure that your project remains on schedule. We coordinate all facets of the project so that everything flows smoothly. We ensure that people know when to be there so that there are no gaps in the process. We make sure materials are ordered on time and stay in close communication with you about progress and the schedule.

Your role: Work with your Lead Carpenter to provide access to the worksite and communicate any questions, concerns or scheduling conflicts you might have.
